Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle – Movie – Review

Jumanji, Directed by Jake Kasdan

Jumanji Movie Review

Summary

Jumanji is about a group of four high-schoolers. One day while serving detention, they come across an old video game console; When they decide to play it, the console sucks them into the actual game of Jumanji, and each person becomes the avatar they chose, stuck in different bodies. The kids quickly realize that in order to get back to the real world, they will have to beat the game; but to do that, they also have to work together and complete a dangerous mission. Along the way, each person discovers their avatar’s unique abilities while navigating through the jungle. It is certainly the wildest adventure they have ever been on, but will they be able save Jumanji and get back to their real lives?

Review

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is one of my favorite Dwayne Johnson movies. It is hilarious, and the amount of action in it makes it very exciting to watch. The cast is the most amazing set of actors ever; The video game characters did a great job of acting like actual teenagers; especially Jack Black, who perfected his role as a popular girl in high-school. Kevin Hart is the comic relief, there to provide funny jokes with his natural sense of humor. And Dwayne Johnson along with Karen Gillan are the action squad. Their fighting scenes are very entertaining, even though they aren’t too realistic.

I also loved the jungle visuals, because they made it look absolutely stunning. And the locations of some sets, like the desert scene, were very beautiful as well.

Overall, I think this movie is amazing and I highly recommend it.

The Greatest Showman -Movie – Review

The Greatest Showman, Directed by  Michael Gracey

The Greatest Showman

Summary

The Greatest Showman is a Musical/Drama about a young boy named P.T. Barnum. He came from a poor family, and wanted to show everyone a world where the only limit was your imagination. So, he created the Barnum & Bailey Circus, where he hired the most exotic performers. So far, everything was good. But, his need to impress everyone got carried away and created drama and chaos on his show. Now, his dream seemed to crumble. But, could he work with his new family to restore the destruction, or is his show doomed?

Review

The theme of this movie really stood out, and the characters’ acting was exceptional. Zack Efron and Zendaya’s characters had a great bond with each other throughout the movie, and were well portrayed. However, Jenny Lind, played by Rebecca Ferguson, was underdeveloped, with no real background for the character; And although the amount of racism in the movie was in various scenes, it was only used in order to describe the hardship for P.T. Barnum and his circus “freaks”. The stunts and dance numbers in this film added a good amount of entertainment for the audience, which I enjoyed very much. Recommended to people with an interest for an emotional musical with catchy tunes.

Review

The amount of action and adventure in this movie will have you watching it in amazement. The characters are hilarious, and each of their personalities go well together. The most impressive were the two voice actors, Tom Holland, and Will Smith. Their impeccable performance and chemistry blew me away.

The amount of positive messages in this movie are also something that made me like it so much.

But sometimes, even though most of the jokes were amusing, some seemed as though they were forced. They were strained into scenes even when they weren’t needed. This might have annoyed some people, but it did still keep me entertained throughout the movie.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a hilarious, action-packed, and adventurous family movie.

Percy Jackson, The Movies

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief Directed by Chris Columbus

Percy Jackson

Percy Jackson, directed by Chris Columbus is truly a thrill to watch. Although it has its similarities with the book, it is different, and engulfs you in suspense, which leaves you wondering what’s going to happen next. I really recommend it if you have an interest in Greek mythology, or if you are looking for a great movie to watch!

The Sea of Monsters, Directed By Thor Freudenthal

(5/5) PG
percy jackson

In sequel to Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, this movie directed by Thor Freudenthal is just as good; Only better. Percy meets Clarisse, the daughter of Ares, who is the God of War. Unfortunately for Percy, he became his rival, and things get worse when Thalia’s tree got poisoned and weakened the barrier. What’s more is that Kronos might come to life once again, but Clarisse had been given the quest instead. Maybe it isn’t up to Percy to save everyone this time. . .is it?

The movies are slightly different from the book; But, it was entertaining nonetheless. Some mistakes were caught in the plot as well. However, the actors’ undeniably great performance made up for that.

Hubie Halloween – Movie -Review

Hubie Halloween, Directed by Steven Brill

Hubie Halloween

Hubie Halloween is about a kind-hearted man. His name is Hubie, and he is ready to make this Halloween safe for everyone. But no one takes him seriously, and he is always underestimated. Soon, people realize that they have to turn to Hubie, but not before some tragic events take place. That’s when they realize that Hubie might be the only one that can save them this time . . .

This movie is just perfect for the October month, but feel free to watch it anytime! It’s another Adam Sandler movie, one that will creep you out but make you double-over with laughter too. I enjoyed watching this movie very much because it made me laugh a lot – and not many movies can do that. There were a few bits of dry comedy here and there though.

I loved how the cast included a lot of great actors and actresses; ones that most people grew up watching and are very familiar with, such as Adam Sandler, Peyton List, Noah Schnapp, Karan Brar, and more!

One great addition to the movie was the multiple-gadget thermos, because it set off Hubie’s personality very well.

Overall, this was an amazing movie. I recommend it to people of an age older than 12, because of language and mild actions.
