How to improve your dribbling skills in soccer
If you play soccer, you know that an important part of it is dribbling; this is a skill that you need to know in order to avoid a defender from stealing your ball. The point of dribbling is to confuse the defenders. There are many drills you can do to improve your dribbling skills, so I have narrowed it down to the best.
1. Cone Weave Dribbling Drill
Cone Weave drills are one of the most important drills used to improve your dribbling skills in soccer. The set up is simple, you just need to place 10 cones in a straight line, one foot apart from one another:

Now you take your soccer ball and weave in and out of the cones; do slow, controlled touches with your foot. You don’t need to rush, speed will come naturally as you practice more. Do it first with your right foot, then with your left, and finally with both. The first time you do it, you can use both feet and either use the inside of your feet or the outside. If you are a beginner, I recommend using the inside. As you slowly get familiar with the drill, you can start using the outside of your feet. Make sure to do the drill at least 4 times.
2. Shape Dribbling Drill
This is another drill that will help you improve your dribbling. For the set up, place some cones in any shape that you like; square, rectangle, triangle, etc.

Now take your soccer ball and dribble as fast as you can, creating the shape by going around the cones. When you reach a cone, try to tilt your body a little as you head in the other direction, because you want to pretend that the cones are defenders, so when you do that, you will confuse them.
3. Parallel Line Dribbling Drill
For this drill, you will need 10 cones. Place 5 in a straight line, one foot apart from each other, and the other 5 parallel to this line. It should look like this:

For this drill, you will take your soccer ball, and start at a cone. Use the outside of your right foot to push the ball in the direction of the cone parallel. Once you reach that cone, use the inside of your foot to move the ball diagonal to the next cone. Repeat this until you reach the end, and then do it with your left foot. This drill is a little harder to do, and it will take time and practice to get better.
If you repeat these 3 exercises everyday with consistency and effort, there will definitely be guaranteed results. Good luck, and I hope these tips helped you improve your dribbling skills in soccer!
